The roots of the BLESS App reach back to 1997, when Chris and Karen Cooper founded
the Mapping Center for Evangelism and Church Growth. Their conviction was simple
and enduring: if followers of Jesus could see their neighbors by name, they would
pray for them — and if they prayed, they would go. In the years that followed,
more than 18,000 churches across all 50 states and many denominations used the
Mapping Center to pray for and share the Gospel with millions of homes.
That same vision gave rise to Bless Every Home, the digital tool that would
eventually become the BLESS App. Built on the five timeless biblical practices of
Begin with Prayer, Listen, Eat, Serve, and Share — first articulated by Dave
and Jon Ferguson in their work on neighboring and evangelism — the platform
gave ordinary believers a simple, practical way to love the people God had already
placed nearest to them.
In 2024, the platform was acquired by The Flourishing Cooperative, rebranded as the
BLESS App, and relaunched with renewed vision and purpose. In February 2026, Palau
took over leadership of BLESS, bringing the platform into partnership with a global
thought and action leader in Evangelism that has served cities across the world for
over 65 years. Palau exists to joyfully proclaim the Good News of Jesus, unite the
Church, and activate believers to reach their cities together. BLESS advances that
mission — equipping Christians to live where God has already placed them,
city by city, neighborhood by neighborhood, neighbor by neighbor.
